SCROLL DOWN

incapable me

conversations about life

welcome

to the place where I write about being human, in all it's (un)glory

If you ARE hoping to find answers

so am I

Who AM I?

Who AM I?

I am the woman at the supermarket who stands on questionable shelving to reach the highest item.

I am the woman who waves you into traffic, and sometimes, the jerk who cuts you off.

I wear hats because they shield me from (warranted) judgement about my (insufficient) hair care routine.

I like dogs and cats and horses and chickens and a particular kind of goat cheese rolled in heaven (also known as blueberries).

I don't like chocolate.

Why do i Write?

Why do i Write?

I write because I have to -- it's my way of figuring things out -- or at least trying to figure things out. Things like why I obsess about losing the same ten pounds or why I care so much about symmetry or why I say I hate gardening but can't stop buying flowers or why having kids is such a brilliant disaster.

Right now, as you read this, I'm writing a book about dying.

Wait, what?

Yes, I said dying.

Other stuff too, of course, but death is a major theme. Before that I procrastinated by writing blogs, which you can read right here, or you can sign up below for my infrequent newsletter and be surprised by what drops in (because let's be honest, not even I have the foggiest notion what will show up in a newsletter until I actually sit down to write it -- that's what they mean by writer's life -- vast amounts of uncertainty).

Should You Follow Along?

Should You Follow Along?

If it makes you feel better knowing you're not alone in the struggle to be a good human, then yes, you should definitely follow along. If you want to think wow, it could be worse, I could be *her* then yes, also follow along because I'm sure I can deliver.

But if you're horrified by thoughts of getting older or wrinkles or gaining ten pounds or dying -- well, I'll be honest with you here -- this may not be your spot.

Then again, it might be the perfect spot.
